Falguni and Shane Peacock has been the go-to label for the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, Paris Hilton and Kylie Jenner. Having showcased their va va voom, rocktastic creations at New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week, they redefine glamour with each outing. The Peacock bride is someone, who enjoys rocking body-flattering creations, has a penchant for beading and sequins and an undying affinity for glam rock. She's also a rebel at heart and likes to pooh-pooh the preconceived notions of femininity with an off-kilter and individualistic take.

Theme: The Falguni and Shane Peacock Spring/Summer 2018 collection titled, Cassiopeia was inspired by the space race. The dynamic duo looked at the sky for a futuristic nudge sheathing their creations with intergalactic elements and imagery for this season at Lakmé Fashion Week. Hence, the result was a star-spangled orgy of creations, which induced an OMG epiphany.
Ambience: The show was held at a lounge of the venue hotel thus adding to a chilled out, laid-back, party vibe.

Highlight: Super model, Ujwala Raut opened the show in a figure-hugging embellished bodysuit accented with a long cape which spelled undiluted drama. The organza jacket offset the shine-on appeal of the bodysuit. Then erupted a glittery fury of micro minis, sequinned, dresses with the label's signature beads and feathers. The designers toyed with the concept of cyber couture by extrapolating a palette of muted pink, nude, caramel, galaxy blue and glossy black. One can't picture a Peacock collection minus their signature dense foliage and this time, they reinterpreted deep toned flowers and gold-chromed butterflies. They also flirted with the concept of moon dust, generously pouring it over the come-hither diaphanous creations. The body con dresses and floor-length gowns came with plunging necklines, which had a conversation with sexy high-cut body suits that were presented with feathered capes. Perhaps an ideal outfit for a Saint Tropez caviar slurry!

The designers, who introduced sheer organza trench coats last season at Lakmé Fashion Week, went sporty this time and reimagined the now-trending souvenir bomber jackets. Sheer bomber jackets with statement slogans thrown over the garments lent a street cred to the outing. Undoubtedly, it's bound to please the Peacock addicts looking for that dose of glamour. The Peacock bride and her entourage of bridesmaids will warm up to it right off the bat. Whoever thought that red carpet dressing has become a yawn-fest of sort, needs to look at this refreshing take on evening glamour. It's hard to not succumb to the transformative power of smart and sassy styling and this offering had that in abundance.
What we loved: Falguni and Shane Peacock have been the styling genius leaving their own indelible prints in the glamour scape over the years. Recently they were in news for shooting their current muse Ujjwala Raut at Times Square in New York. In this show too, styling was the real hero—be it the interplay of textures like feathers and sequins or teaming of sheer bomber with shimmery bodysuits.
Beauty: Models sported side-parted sleek, wet hair and the classic nude make-up was accented with pink lips. The glossy mane and clean make-up added to the femme fatale vibe of this collection at Lakmé Fashion Week.
Front Row: Sussanne Khan, Anu Dewan, Zayed Khan, Zarine Khan, Pria Kataaria Puri, Shamita Shetty and Dia Mirza.
Jewellery: Farah Khan jewellery was the perfect accompaniment to the creations. The emerald rings, diamond necklaces, bracelets and ruby earrings lent a luxe-lit edge to the ensembles. Intricate diamond danglers, drop earrings encrusted with pearl and emerald baubles that appeared like chandeliers sparkled on the runway. Trinkets with carefully carved rubies and spherical diamond balis were some inventive pieces that looked stunning with the couture. Uneven layered delicate necklace with fine carving along with tangled pearl necklace had a regal appeal to them.
Music: The music was enchanting and peppy - setting the perfect mood for this glam outing.

Showstopper: The ultra-reclusive Preity Zinta sashayed down the runway looking every bit the quintessential Peacock bride.
There's no stopping the brand—Falguni and Shane Peacock. They have captured the evening glamour space and it's applause-worthy how they keep the momentum alive season after season.
