White Hot Chocolate
Well white chocolate is like sushi, it is acquired taste! You relish it once you develop the taste for it and when it translates into a hot beverage, yumm! All you need is to melt the white chocolate and pour in warm milk and then add on the whipped cream, cookie crumbs and marshmallows as it suits your taste. Simple and yum, it makes a perfect post dinner drink!
Caramel Hot Chocolate
For those of you that enjoy caramel sauce, this is the hot chocolate variant custom made for you. Once you have your caramel sauce in place, all you need to do is melt the chocolate chips in warm milk and add the sauce and whipped cream. Now find a cozy corner to curl up in and let the hot mug of warm caramel goodness add to your winter cheer.
Spiced Pumpkin Latte
To savor the flavors of pumpkin in your winter beverage grab a warm mug of spiced pumpkin latte. All you need is to make some pumpkin puree, add milk sugar to taste and then the pumpkin pie spice (which is basically a mix of cinnamon, cloves, ginger, nutmeg and added spices); combine all of these in one bowl and microwave it covered for not more than a minute or till milk is foamy. Now pour the espresso or coffee into a large mug and add the foamed milk. Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice and your pumpkin latte is ready!
Vanilla Bean or Dates Hazelnut Milk
As complicated as it sounds this one is the simplest to make and you can relish it at any time of the year. Just blend in soaked almonds and hazel nuts in water and strain it to create a creamy hazelnut milk. Add dates or vanilla beans, cinnamon and salt to make yourself the perfect milk to relish this winter.
Eggnog may be a Christmas classic but it is one amazing winter drink and it isn’t too hard to tell why. Made in heavy cream, eggs, brandy and nutmegs, this is everything you need to keep you warm and in the December spirit. Bring to simmer in a pan a combined mixture of cream, sugar and nutmeg. In a blender put together the eggs and gradually add the hot cream mixture, keep blending till the mixture is frothy, add the brandy and serve while still warm.
