Diwali 2021 is almost here, and we’re sure by now you must have scrubbed every corner of your home to make it squeaky clean. But have you also spared some time to pamper your skin? The festive rush and stress can take a toll on your skin and make it dull and lacklustre. But fret not; we’ve got your back. Here are five homemade face masks for glowing skin that you can try during the festive season. Made with ingredients readily available in the pantry, these masks take no more than ten minutes to whip up. So get scrolling to get your glow on.

 

1) Egg and almond face mask

The egg in this face mask will work to provide hydration and elasticity to your skin while the vitamin E enriched almonds nourish your skin and help brighten it. This mask is perfect for people with dry skin.

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg
  • 10-12 almonds

 

Grind your almonds in a blender and add them to a bowl. Then, whisk and beat the egg nicely and add it to the almonds. Mix it well to make a paste and apply it all over your face. Let it sit for 25-30 minutes, before washing it off with cool water.

 

 

2) Avocado face mask

Avocados are amazing for your skin. They help moisturise and nourish your skin, while also making sure to minimise breakouts and skin damage. The honey and oats in this mask help hydrate, soothe and exfoliate your skin to make it bright and glowy this Diwali.

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup ripe avocado
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon oats

 

Mash the avocado in a bowl and add the remaining ingredients to it. Mix it well to make a thick paste. Apply the mask on your face and neck and let it stay on for no longer than 15 minutes. Wash it away with cool water and you’re ready to glow!

 

 

3) Green tea and yoghurt face mask

If you have oily skin, you’re going to love this homemade face mask. From moisturising your skin to reducing irritation and acne, green tea helps your skin through this all. Furthermore, the yoghurt in this face mask works to fade pigmentation and blemishes, brightening your skin tone and even putting a stop to early signs of skin ageing.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons ground green tea
  • 2 tablespoon yoghurt
  • Few drops of rosemary essential oil

 

Mix all the ingredients to make a paste and apply it all over your face and let it rest for 15-20 minutes. Rinse it off with lukewarm water and don’t forget to moisturise your skin after that.

Whip both the ingredients together and apply them to your face and neck. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes before rinsing it with cool water.

 

 

5) Gram flour and turmeric face mask

Oh, this one is a classic. Made with the goodness of turmeric and gram flour, this mask will help exfoliate your skin to remove impurities to make it glowy and bright and perfect for the Diwali festivities.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon gram flour
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • Few drops of lemon
  • Few drops of rose water

 

Mix all these ingredients in a bowl to make a paste. Apply it evenly on your face and neck and let it stay till it dries up. Then gently scrub it off your face and wash it with cool water and you’re good to go.
