From whipping up DIY recipes to researching best skincare ingredients and their benefits, we did it all. It’s no wonder then that 2020 gave us some of the best skincare trends, some of which we’re going to be carrying forward in 2021 as well.

Since everything, from online deliveries to salons being shut, people had no choice but to take beauty matters in their own hands. Most people resorted to whipping up some amazing skincare recipes using ingredients readily available in their kitchens. Additionally, DIY recipes became a lot more popular. And even B-Town celebs hopped onto the bandwagon to share their DIY recipes for clear, glowing skin.

Many of us started becoming conscious about the impact of our beauty routine on the environment. This led to a rise in the demand for clean beauty products with consumers gravitating towards beauty products made with fewer chemicals and packed in recyclable material, making clean beauty one of the biggest trends of 2020.

With nowhere to go, people were a lot more comfortable experimenting and trying out different skincare ingredients. Retinol, AHAs, BHAs and salicylic acid became really popular in 2020. An obvious by-product of clean, people learnt to be more aware of what exactly they’re putting on their faces.

With more time at hand, people started reading up about skincare and realised that different skin types require different products, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to skincare. This made people reach out for more and more skincare products specifically formulated for their skin type, thereby getting better results.
