Netflix’s massively popular modernized era-drama Bridgerton wowed millennials audiences like no other. Personally, as someone who belongs to the generation that grew up reading Jane Austen and watching Gossip Girl like there was no tomorrow, this show had so many elements that kept me hooked to it. And by the looks of the viewership numbers (the show has become the biggest original from Netflix, ever), many binged on the show just like I did. One of the standouts of the show, apart from its engaging drama and hugely attractive actors, is the lead actress, Phoebe Dynevor’s makeup and styling. While both are not exactly accurate to the era the show is set in, the creators confessed to taking creative liberties to add some modern elements to it. Especially with Daphne Bridgerton’s makeup — did you know that blush was strictly no-go for high societies back then?
Regardless of whether the makeup is accurate or not, it looks lovely. And the show’s makeup artist has taken to her Instagram feed to give fans an insight into what went into creating the look. We have gone through them all and recreated the steps to help you achieve Daphne’s minimal makeup look. Check it out...

The face: Heavy makeup was only reserved for performers back in Regency Era London, and that theme was maintained with Daphne. Her look was created with a focus on skin prep. For her clear, glowing complexion, prep with the Pond’s Skin Brightening Serum Mask followed by a soothing moisturiser like the Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream Moisturiser. Use the Lakmé 9 to 5 CC Color Transform Cream to give your skin a sheer coverage and then go in with the Lakmé Absolute White Intense Liquid Concealer to conceal problem areas. Add warmth to your cheeks with the Lakme Face Sheer Blusher, but make sure to just add a hint of it for that barely-there blush look.
The eyes: Use the Lakme 9 to 5 Eye Color Quartet Eye Shadow Mystic Nudes palette to create her subtle eye makeup look. To recreate Daphne’s soft but stunning gaze, prep your lashes with a primer and follow it up with the Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Dramatic Eyes Mascara.
The lip: To recreate Daphne’s lip look, massage the Vaseline Lip Care Cocoa Butter onto your pout with your fingers to moisturise them. Follow that up with the Lakmé Absolute Forever Silk Lip Liner - Poppy Red for a chic and toned-down colour fill.
Wrapping up: Wrap up the makeup routine by lightly dusting some sheer Lakmé 9 to 5 Naturale Finishing Powder all over your face to set your base
