Taylor Swift might be the only person who has managed to do the most during the pandemic. While you were trying to fix your sleep routine the whole time, Tay Tay went ahead and shot an aesthetic album cover for her next drop, Folklore. She also showed stills from an upcoming video and the moody visuals paired with a throwback to Tay Tay’s Love Story days curls got us intrigued and wondering: did she do her own hair?!

Taylor Swift - makeup look

Turns out, she did! With her gorgeous mane styled into braided twin buns and casual curly bangs, Taylor gave us an insight into how she would like to express her true personality. She captioned the post: “The entire shoot was overseen by a medical inspector, everyone wore masks, stayed away from each other, and I even did my own hair, makeup, and styling.”

This hairdo is definitely a break from her signature beauty look, which features high fashion glam and beautifully done, sleek hairstyles. We love it when artists have complete creative freedom on their work, especially when it comes to styling themselves for a music video that is bound to hit millions of views.

This isn’t the first time we saw Taylor play with her hair during the quarantine. She revealed her take on the viral pastel hair trend, with streaks of teal and pink done to near perfection. We think it is safe to say that Tayloe should do her hair more often, her personal style is just so quirky and fun!

As for the rest of the styling, Taylor chose to keep her face minimal with plum, hydrated lips and a touch of mascara for her makeup. The dresses remind us of her early music career too and we’re not complaining.

The singer revealed that spending time in isolation to be the inspiration for the album. “In isolation, my imagination has run wild and this album is the result, a collection of songs and stories that flowed like a stream of consciousness. Picking up a pen was my way of escaping into fantasy, history, and memory. I’ve told these stories to the best of my ability with all the love, wonder, and whimsy they deserve. Now it’s up to you to pass them down,” she wrote in a post on Instagram. We laud Taylor’s zeal to make the most of these trying times and can’t wait to put the new single on repeat all weekend!
