Never, never, never give up on your hair!
While I manage to alter my skincare routine according to the changing seasons, when it comes to my hair, I often fail miserably. Excessive exposure to the sun, pollution, dust, grime and not to forget, constant use of heat-styling tools can put my tresses in trouble, leading to dry and brittle hair that ultimately loses its moisture and shine.
If your hair also needs a pick-me-up, I’m going to let you in on a secret. I just discovered a DIY hair mist that can bring your hair back to life and leave your tresses looking soft, smooth, shiny and healthy.
Coconut oil + Rose water: DIY hair mist recipe
Mix together three tablespoons of coconut oil and one cup of rose water. Pour the concoction into a spray bottle and store it in a cool place. You can use this mist in three different ways: as a pre-wash hair treatment, a leave-in treatment and an overnight treatment.
To use it as a pre-wash treatment, all you need to do is shake the spray bottle well and spritz the solution on dry hair an hour before washing your hair.
To use it as a leave-in treatment, spritz it on damp hair for a smoothening effect.
To use it as an overnight treatment, spray the solution on your hair before bed to repair damaged hair.
Benefits of coconut oil and rose water
Good old coconut oil is a blessing in every Indian woman’s life. This easily available ingredient works effectively to retain the health of your mane. From stimulating hair growth to moisturising dry hair and preventing breakage to adding lustre, coconut oil benefits both your hair as well as scalp.
Rose water, on the other hand, replenishes lost moisture and makes your hair more manageable and less frizzy. The anti-inflammatory properties of rose water help fight dandruff, increase scalp circulation and boosts hair growth.
These two ingredients when mixed together make for a miracle elixir for your hair.
