Every girl has experimented with some sort of hair treatment at one time or another. Whether it is a few highlights or something more dramatic like a perm, every girl has tried changing up her looks with a few tweaks in the hair department. The downside to these treatments is your hair becomes weak and prone to breakage and dryness.
Give your treated hair some extra lovin’ by keeping these following tips in mind.
- Choose the right products
- Do not over wash
- Handle your hair with care
- Get your ends trimmed regularly
- Mask and protect
Choose the right products

If you have been colouring or chemically treating your hair, you need to make sure that the shampoo and conditioner you are using is replenishing your hair with nutrients and hydrating it. Use specially formulated products like Dove Oxygen Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner to make sure your hair is well looked after.
Do not over wash

Now that you have picked the right shampoo and conditioner, we urge you not to over wash your hair. What does that mean? Chemically treated hair or coloured hair is prone to losing moisture easily. So washing your hair frequently and the exposure to hot water will strip your hair of its natural oils. Stick to washing your hair with lukewarm water twice a week.
Handle your hair with care

Never skip the conditioner and avoid de-tangling or combing your hair when it is wet. Air-dry it and when it almost dry, work a leave-in serum through the mid-lengths to the ends of your hair. Now use a wide-tooth comb to de-tangle your hair, starting at the ends and working your way to the roots.
Get your ends trimmed regularly

Colouring your hair or getting them chemically treated leaves the hair dry and prone to split ends. Before the split ends spread along the length of your hair and cause irreversible damage, snip off the ends with regular trims. This will keep your hair looking healthy and guard your hair against damage resulting from split ends.
Mask and protect

Invest in a good deep-conditioning treatment once every couple of months to pamper your chemically treated or coloured hair. This replenishes lost moisture and nutrients back into your hair. It is best to avoid heat styling on treated hair, but we know you cannot completely do away with your straighteners and blow dryers. So we suggest you use a heat-protectant spray/cream/mist like the Toni&Guy SIBLING London Limited Edition Heat Protection Mist before you use heat styling on your hair.
