3 apple cider vinegar treatments to bring your hair back to life

One month you have  pink locks and the next you have gone green! Or maybe you love having multiple colours on your hair at the same time? But this leaves you constantly worried because your hair now looks super dry! It is time you indulged your tresses in a pamper sesh this weekend using the one ingredient that is easily available in every kitchen - apple cider vinegar. This will put the lost shine back into your hair and reverse some of the damage constant styling and colouring can do.

These simple DIY treatments using ACV are simple to make and take barely any time. Read on to find out three hair treatments that will help bring your damaged locks back to life.

Scalp scrub

Hair mask

If you haven’t tried a scalp scrub yet, now is a great time to start. A scalp scrub helps gently exfoliate the scalp and get rid of product build-up, dirt, and dead skin cells. Additionally, a scrub enriched with apple cider vinegar seals your cuticle to tame frizz and add shine, as well as help get rid of dandruff and itchiness.

BB pro tip: In a bowl mix together coarsely crushed pink salt, apple cider vinegar, coconut oil, honey and rosemary essential oil. Apply this scrub to wet hair and gently massage your scalp. Leave it on for 15 minutes and rinse with warm water.

Hair rinse

An apple cider vinegar hair rinse is the perfect addition to any hair care regimen. It helps detangle hair, keeps it frizz-free, brings back lost body, increases shine and decreases product build-up. If you are experiencing excessive hair fall, then an ACV rinse will unclog hair follicles and reduce the hair loss and promote its growth.

BB pro tip: Mix together two to four tablespoons of raw apple cider vinegar with two cups of water. Add a few drops of lavender essential oil and mix well. Post shampooing, pour the hair rinse on your hair, allowing it to run through the lengths. Let it sit for a few minutes and rinse thoroughly.

Hair masks are a quick and easy way to nourish dull and damaged hair. The acidic properties of ACV help rejuvenate strands by getting rid of product build-up, repairing damage and making them appear smooth and shiny.

BB pro tip: Take a bowl and mix together apple cider vinegar, water, honey, olive oil and a few drops of your favourite essential oil. Remember to stir well.  Apply this mask on your hair and scalp using your fingers, leave it on for 10 - 15 minutes, and rinse off the hair mask with just water; no shampoo needed.
