Got your hair coloured recently? So you've finally committed to the hair colour you were eyeing! Well, that's great but now it's time to commit to a proper hair care too. The last thing you want to do, after investing in hair colour, is ruin that colour (and waste all your money) by not taking proper care of your colour treated hair. Right? Here are some dos and don'ts to keep in mind, to make sure your hair colour lasts and your hair look healthy...
01Don’t: Wash hair (at least for some days)
We're hoping it's not too late! Shampooing right after the treatment can strip the colour off as it takes 3 days for cuticles to lock the colour. Swear by the three-day rule before you reach for the shampoo.
02Do: Pick the right shampoo
Wash your hair with a shampoo that is safe for dyed hair and doesn't contain parabens and nourishes your hair. Get your hands on Tresemme Botanique Nourish & Replenish Shampoo and rinse with cold water.
03Don’t: Use a plastic hair brush
Your tinted hair is fragile and plastic brushes can be harsh on it. Use a gentle boar bristle brush that helps distribute the natural oils in your tresses and ultimately gives a shinier look to your coloured locks.
04Do: Oil your mane
The hair colour treatment opens the hair cuticles and zaps the natural oil of the hair, making it dry and damaged. Oiling regularly will help nourish your hair and get the shine back.
05Don’t: Use styling tools
Skip on the styling and avoid using hot tools. If you must style, use it at a low temperature. Also, steer clear from styling creams, hair gels and hairsprays. The overuse of these make the colour fade faster and increase the risk of hair damage.
