Back in the 1940s women paid ample attention to their hair—this was when Victory rolls came into being. To sum it up, the victory roll hairstyle is curls swept away from the face rolled upwards. Several hairstylists are bringing back the trend by either using them as a base for a bun or leaving the rest of the hair loose with a victory bun on top. Wondering how to go about it? Here’s a step-by-step breakdown...

Before you begin

Before you begin

Before you get started with this retro hairstyle, you need to make sure you cleanse your hair the right way. Get your hands on the Sunsilk Lusciously Thick and Long Shampoo and Conditioner. This range is enriched with Keratin Yoghurt Nutria-Complex, which has the power to nourish your hair from the root to the tip!

Step 1

Step 1

Part your hair to one-side and then section off a strip of hair in the front while tying the rest of your hair into a low ponytail or pinning it up from behind.

Step 2

Now, on that strip add a long bobby pin about four inches away from the parting. Next, back comb the hair without touching the part near the hairpin. This will help you add volume once you roll.

Step 3

Step 3

Next, start rolling at the tip of your hair. Wrap two fingers around and roll till the end but make sure there’s a tunnel-like space between the roll.

Step 4

When your roll is on top make sure it’s right on top of the hair pin. Once your roll is in place, insert another pin through the roll and secure the roll onto your head.

Finish off my spraying the Toni & Guy Glamour: Firm Hold Hairspray because this one will hold your Victory roll in place as well as lend your hair shine.
