2016 has been the year of hair trends. While some have caught our fancy others have been too OTT for reality. Wondering what they are? Here’s rounding them up for you...

Leopard print hair

When worn in a minimalist way, we appreciate leopard print outfits and accessories. But this year things got rather uncomfortable when the trend made its way into the hair space with women shaving their head in such a way that some parts of their hair represented leopard skin.

Unicorn hair

This one was clearly not for the faint hearted. Quite literally, the trend implies creating a unicorn horn on the top of the head. Instagrammers believe it’s one of the cutest hair trends of the year but if we were to actually see someone aping the trend in reality, we would stop to judge.

Glow in the dark hair

Everything glow-in-the-dark excites us but glow-in-the-dark hair? Nah! Simply because we’re not sure if our hair glowing in the dark would do any favour to our beauty goals. This is a trend when a neon dye in applied to the hair that makes it glow when the lights go out. No path-breaking purpose, really—it’s just meant for those who enjoy attention for bizarre reasons.

Stencil art hair

This became quite the rage on the web and had everyone creating designs on their hair using a stencil and a spray. Although some designs like hearts and polka dots looked cute in pictures, we doubt this one got a thumbs up in reality. After all, drawing hearts on your hair is pushing your romantic side to a bizarre level.

Cat undercut hair

When it comes to animal lovers, we’re on the cat bandwagon. But as die-hard cat lovers, would we get a cat rainbow undercut? No. We’re certain there are cuter ways to depict our love for kitties.
