It’s no news that girls are obsessed with their eyebrows. From getting regular threading appointments to filling them in on the daily, each one of us is trying to create our own version of the perfect brows.
And why shouldn’t we? Eyebrows add definition to the face and can make or break a look. They can, in fact, take years away from your face if done right. However, there are certain brow mistakes that can end up making you look old, and that is something you definitely don’t want.
Therefore, we’ve compiled a list of all the eyebrow mistakes that can make you look older and how to avoid them. Read on…
- Plucking your eyebrows too thin
- Using a darker shade to fill your brows
- Ignoring white hair in your brows
- Not paying attention to thinning brows
Plucking your eyebrows too thin
It is best to leave the super-thin brows where they belong – in the 90s. Because honestly, they do nothing but make you look old and tired. Fuller brows help define your features and make you look a lot younger. In case the threading session went slightly wrong and the technician ended up plucking one too many hairs, then fret not. Simply fill in your brows using an eyebrow pencil and you’re good to go.
Using a darker shade to fill your brows
When it comes to filling in your brows, always pick colours that are one shade lighter than your natural brow colour. Using a darker shade delivers a very vampy and aged appearance. Additionally, ensure that you use short, feathery strokes for natural-looking brows.
Ignoring white hair in your brows
Embracing grey hair is an awesome thing, but maybe not so much when they appear on your brows. This is because greying eyebrows do nothing to define your features. You could either go for eyebrow tinting, but if that is not your thing, then it would be advisable to use a brow gel to cover up whatever greys you can.
Not paying attention to thinning brows
Just like the hair on your scalp, eyebrow hair tends to thin as you age. And this is something that makes you look older than you actually are. A smart way to deal with this issue would be to conceal those balding patches with a brow gel in order to make your brows look full and your face, youthful.
