Skin care essentials for a camping trip
Are you all packed and ready for your upcoming camping trip? More importantly, is your skin? Amidst all the excitement and hustle, it’s easy to forget that your skin needs extra care in the outdoors. So, don’t forget to pack these skin care essentials.

Here’s how you can glam up for your adventure in the wilderness…

Chemical-free face mist

Wash your face before bed

Take the natural route for instant rejuvenation with this DIY face mist. It’s easy to make and easier to carry around. The moisturising properties of aloe vera and the soothing effects of essential oils will nourish your face and give it a glow.

In a plastic spray bottle, mix 1 cup aloe vera juice and 10 drops of lavender essential oil and rosemary essential oil each. Shake well and spritz some onto your face whenever you want, for instant freshness.

Lather up with sunscreen

A sunscreen is an essential whenever you step out of the house, so forgetting it when you are constantly going to be outdoors is just not an option. For protecting your skin from the elements, go for something with SPF 50 or higher. Rub some onto your skin every 2-3 hours to prevent skin damage.

Pack a bandana headband

You don’t want your hair to be all over the place while you are hiking, do you? It will only give you frizz. A bandana headband will keep your hair away from the face without making you look frumpy. A high ponytail or high bun with a bandana headband will keep the sweat away from your face and you won’t even have to bother brushing your hair away from your face from time to time.

Don’t forget the antibacterial wipes

A quick swipe of an antibacterial wipe across your face will leave you feeling refreshed and clean. Spending so much time outdoors can cause your skin to accumulate dirt faster, leading to clogged pores. To prevent that, clean your face with an antibacterial wipe at regular intervals.

Assuming you have access to clean water in the wilds, wash your face with some cold water and apply a coat of moisturiser before going to bed. This will not only clean the dirt accumulated on your face but also repair any damage your skin suffered during the day.

If you can’t find clean water, an antibacterial wipe works just as well. Just don’t forget to moisturise and then apply sunscreen!
