Smelly feet has to be one of the most annoying issues to crop up in the rainy season. It is fairly common too, which means you have to update your personal care regimen to accommodate foot care as well. The rise in humidity and the dampness in your footwear serve as the perfect breeding ground for bacteria and lead to odour. Smelly feet can be embarrassing, especially when you step into an air-conditioned room after being out in the rain all day. Fortunately, it's not that difficult to keep your feet feeling dry and smelling fresh, even if it's pouring out. Here are some ways to avoid bad smelling feet in the monsoon season.
01Keep odour causing bacteria away
Maintain proper hygiene in the rainy season and wash your feet every time they come in contact with rainwater. Use an antibacterial body wash to clean your feet in the shower; make sure to clean hard to reach spots, like in-between your toes. Dry your feet properly before stepping out again. 02Detox with foot masks
Give yourself an at-home foot detox once a week. You can DIY your own Foot detox masks using ingredients such as activated charcoal, bentonite clay and Epsom salt to suck out toxins from your body through the soles of your feet. Detoxing pads drenched in deodorising ingredients do wonders to freshen up feet the feet. They are also a good excuse to clean your toenail properly as dirt getting stuck under them can cause odour. 03Exfoliate the soles of your feet
The soles of your feet are one of the most overlooked parts of your body. Since most of us usually opt for a shower bath, the bottoms of the feet remain neglected, collecting dead skin cells and clogging pores. Relieve the extra pressure of your feet during the monsoons and exfoliate then twice a week. 05Wear open footwear
It is often recommended to stick to sandals, flip flops and any kind of open footwear during the rainy season. But that's not always feasible. An easy way to keep your feet smelling fresh all day is by stuffing some dry tea bags in your shoes. You can also invest in scented shoe inserts or rub some antiperspirant on your soles to keep odour at bay
