DIY eye gel to get rid of tired and puffy eyes for good

When it comes to eyes, dark circles and puffiness are two common problems that most women complain about. While eye massages and eye creams should be on your list of high priority to-do tasks before calling it day, it is equally important to get enough sleep.

But more often than not, life and leisure get in the way of this simple task, depriving us of our required quota of sleep. This leads to your eyes looking dull and tired. If any of this is making any sense to you, then you don’t need to lose hope just yet. While there is no replacement for what getting enough sleep will do to your skin, there is something you can do to cancel out the tiredness and make your eyes look bright and well-rested.

How? With a really simple and effective cooling eye gel recipe, that’s how! This simple recipe requires very few ingredients, takes little prep time and gives you instant results in as little as 10 minutes. Say whaaa?! Yes, that’s right. Read on to find out how to make this simple, all-natural eye gel to give your eyes that new lease of life.

You will need:

You will need:

½ a cup of aloe vera gel – The moisturising and nourishing properties of aloe vera help hydrate the area and make it appear less puffy.

2 tablespoons of cucumber juice - All of us know how cucumber is our go-to home remedy for most eye-related problems. This is thanks to its cooling, hydrating and conditioning properties. Cucumber juice helps soothe inflammations, calm tensed muscles and provide instant brightening effects.

2 tablespoons of brewed green tea - The anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of green tea make it an excellent addition to this DIY gel. The caffeine in green tea helps soothe tired eyes, reduce puffiness and keep your skin tight to make your eyes appear brighter.

How to:

Step 01: Scrape some fresh aloe vera gel from a plant and pour it in a mixing bowl.

Step 02: Grate a cucumber and extract its juice. Add this juice to the aloe gel and mix well.

Step 03: Lastly, brew some green tea and allow it cool down for a little while. Add this to the mixture of aloe and cucumber and blend them thoroughly.

Step 04: Transfer this mixture to an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator for future use. You can store this eye gel for up to two weeks.

Step 05: Apply this mixture to your eyes and leave it on for about 10 minutes.

Step 06: Wash off with cold water.

But let's be honest. Getting hold of all the ingredients and concocting up an eye serum is not everyone's cup of tea. If you are one of them, then you can start using the Lakme Absolute Argan Oil Radiance Night Revival Eye Cream every night before bed and watch it work to eliminate your dark circles, puffiness and other eye problems in just a few uses.
