As we grow older, our skin undergoes several changes. The elastin and collagen in our skin start to deplete, and therefore our skin develops wrinkles, fine lines and also starts to sag.
In order to delay the signs of ageing, you must start including anti-ageing products in your skincare routine from as early as 23 years of age. And to do so, you need to make skin tightening face masks a part of your weekly beauty regimen.
To help you get started, we have listed down some really easy skin tightening face masks that use ingredients that are commonly available in every kitchen. These face masks are really effective and will certainly show results in just a few uses.
01. Banana face mask

This is one fruit that almost every house will always have. Banana is full of skin-loving ingredients and is very beneficial when used as a face mask. It not only helps to moisturise and hydrate the skin but also enhances skin elasticity, thereby combating skin sagging. This face mask also contains honey and olive oil that only add to the benefits of this amazing face mask. Honey, as we all know, is a great humectant and helps to retain moisture into the skin. While olive oil is full of natural antioxidants that prevent the skin from damage caused by free radicals.
How to:
Step 01: In a bowl, add one medium-sized mashed banana along with 1 teaspoon of honey and olive oil, each.
Step 02: Mix the ingredients very well, until they have all blended together.
Step 03: Apply this mask to your face and neck and leave it on for about 15 minutes. Wash off using lukewarm water and a bar of gentle soap.
Step 04: At the end, rinse your skin with cool water to shrink open pores.
02. Egg white face mask

One of the best and most common ingredients to fight sagging skin are egg whites. Enriched with albumin, egg whites’ abilities to tone and tighten the skin are absolutely unmatched. Additionally, the yoghurt in this mask helps to clear out the skin and leaves it free of any blemishes. Lastly, all of us are aware of the exfoliating properties of sugar. It helps to get rid of dead skin from the surface to reveal skin that is fresh and glowing.
How to:
Step 01: In a mixing bowl, break an egg and separate the whites from the yolk.
Step 02: Add a tablespoon of plain yoghurt and half a teaspoon of sugar. Mix all the ingredients well together.
Step 03: Apply this mixture on freshly cleansed face and allow it to completely dry.
Step 04: Once your skin starts to feel a little tight, wash it off with lukewarm water and a bar of gentle soap.
03. Castor oil face mask

All of us know the benefits of castor oil for our hair. But did you know that this oil is extremely beneficial for your skin too, especially when it comes to skin tightening? The moisturising properties of castor oil enhance the production of collagen and elastin in the skin, thereby making your skin tighter over time.
How to:
Step 01: Mix together 1-2 tablespoons of castor oil along with 1 teaspoon of lavender oil.
Step 02: Apply this fragrant mixture to your entire face and neck area in an upward circular motion. Continue massaging for a few minutes.
Step 03: You can either wash it off after 30 minutes or leave it on overnight too.
Step 04: Wash it off as usual with water and a bar of gentle soap.
