Before gel, sheet and peel off masks took over our beauty shelves, the good old mud masks were all we had to solve our skin woes. Be it excessive oil, blemishes, acne or uneven texture mud masks were able to solve it all! They were a huge part of the growing up years for most Indian women. Some of them still haven’t replaced their trusted bentonite, fuller’s earth and kaolin clay with the modern versions. And we know exactly why. It’s because mud masks offer so many beauty benefits. If you are struggling with oily or mature skin and want to take a few years off your face to give your skin a healthy glow, this DIY recipe is for you!

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons of Bentonite clay (helps in skin tightening and reducing enlarged pores)
  • 2 tablespoons of ground coffee (revitalizes the skin and helps get rid of dead skin cells)
  • 3-4 tablespoons of water or apple cider vinegar

Method

Method

Step 01: Put the clay and coffee grounds in a small bowl and mix well with a spoon.
Step 02: Now, add 2 tablespoons of water or apple cider vinegar to this mixture and mix again. If the paste looks too thick, add more liquid and mix.
Step 03: Apply all over the face evenly and let it sit for 5-10 minutes or until the mask completely dries off.
Step 04: Wet your face and gently remove the mask, rubbing gently.
Step 05: Apply a thin layer of a lightweight moisturiser to prevent drying.
