Not getting beauty sleep? This trick will give you an instant luminous glow in the AM

For many of us, the everyday pattern of work and leisure has ended up becoming rather irregular and a tad peculiar altogether. Hasn’t it? Not being able to clock a full seven to eight hours of beauty sleep is a real skincare concern, one that you need to get back on track ASAP!

The nighttime is super crucial for your skin as it repairs and heals itself from the damages done during the day, allowing you to wake up looking all fresh and radiant. But, if you’re not getting your beauty sleep off late, we’re gonna let you in on a neat trick to fake a luminous glow in the morning.

Step #1: Dunk your face in ice water

This skincare tip to get a natural glow in the morning comes straight from Katrina Kaif. Yes! The diva had once shared on Instagram how she refreshes her skin in the AM by dunking her face in a bowl full of ice water for a few seconds, two to three times. This is a great way to improve blood circulation and depuff the skin instantly.

Step #2: Exfoliate with a gentle scrub

Once you’ve cleansed your face and (done the ice dip, too), you need to now work on thoroughly getting rid of that stubborn layer of dullness on skin. Enter: exfoliation. Take a gentle formula like Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant Exfoliant and massage it on your face for a couple of minutes in a circular motion and rinse. It has glow-inducing ingredients like papain, salicylic acid, liquorice and rice enzymes that scrub away dirt and grime, even out skin tone and give a polished radiance to your skin.

Step #3: Use a lightweight serum

This one is an important step if you’re aiming for a lasting glow throughout the day. We suggest using a lightweight serum like the Lakmé 9 to 5 Vitamin C+ Facial Serum in your daily skincare routine for a brighter skin tone. This one from Lakmé is enriched with the highest known source of Vitamin C — Kakadu Plum and will make your skin appear radiant and even-toned. To help the serum penetrate deeper, indulge in five minutes of facial yoga. This will soothe your skin, improve blood circulation and sculpt your facial features to make you look more defined.

Step #4: Apply an illuminating moisturiser

We know of a secret weapon to fight off last night’s fatigue and give the skin a natural-looking glow. Enter: Lakmé Lumi Cream. Power-packed with the goodness of Korean pink pearl extracts (say whaaa), it moisturises your skin while improving collagen synthesis in the process and lending your skin an envious 3D glow.

Step #5: Extra coverage with concealer

Glow with dark circles and spots peeking through doesn’t really have that satisfying effect, right? So, grab a concealer and cover up the problem areas. However, make sure to not use excess concealer as it can make your skin look too cakey and patchy.

Step #6: Blush on the go

The last step is to grab a multipurpose makeup product in your vanity – a blush. Dab it on your cheeks and on the eyelids for a healthy flush that’ll make you look all rosy and radiant in the AM!
