Unless you’re really lucky, chances are you’ve had to deal with puffy eyes already. When we were young it happened because we stayed up too late during exams, a little later is was possibly because we were partying away till the wee hours of the morning and post that, it happened because we had to spend too much time staring at our computer screens and putting in the late hours at work. Whatever be the case, this is a common phenomenon and there are many simple and easy ways to reduce puffy eyes. Here they are…
Step 1:
So what exactly causes puffy eyes? As we age, the muscles around our eyes weaken thereby leading to eye bags and puffy eyes. Further, lifestyle changes cause the skin around the eyes to sag and show signs of fatigue. If you’re seeing these too, invest in a reliable under-eye cream. Our favourite? The Pond’s Age Miracle Firm & Lift Eye Contour Lifter that not only instantly brightens up the eyes, but also reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in the delicate eye area.
Step 2:
Long night? Just step into your kitchen for some assistance.
Everyone’s favourite veggie, the cucumber, is an excellent natural skin saviour. Owing to its content of ascorbic acid, cucumber slices can be used on puffy eyes to ease water retention and reduce puffiness. Alternately, you can use slices of apples over your eyes instead of cucumber as well.
Step 3:
Both green and black tea can help deal with puffy eyes. Moisten tea bags in warm water for 30 seconds and leave them to cool in the refrigerator for 30 mins. Then, place them on your eyes for 15 to 20 minutes. Green tea has anti-inflammatory properties and restricts the blood flow to the eye area, thus reducing puffiness. Black tea on the other hand contains caffeine that tightens the blood vessels and reduces visible fatigue.
