Let’s face it! When it’s summer, ingrown hair makes us rethink our wardrobe options. While ingrowth is a common skin concern, not many women know how to treat it. Here are a few simple solutions to help you deal with it…
Exfoliate regularly
Ingrown hair is also caused by thick layers of dead skin so the easiest way to steer clear of itis by exfoliating regularly to prevent build up and keep the dermis clean. While this doesn’t necessarily guarantee that you won’t have absolutely any ingrowth, it will reduce the chances drastically.
Remove hair in the same direction of the growth
As a rule, most salons choose to remove in the same direction as the growth. So follow the same rule if you’re using a razor all too often. Also ensure that you change your razor frequently and use as few strokes as possible.
Use coconut oil post hair removal
Warm some coconut oil after hair removal and massage it all over. Leave it on for 30 minutes before washing it off with cold water. It has a soothing and calming effect on the skin and over time, will reduce your chances of ingrowth and nasty, red bumps.
