As a scrub

Exfoliating your scalp is as important as exfoliating your face. This is because, just like your face, your scalp also builds up a layer of dead skin cells, product residue and dirt over time that is hard to clean with just shampoo. Using a scrub once in a while ensures your scalp is thoroughly cleansed.

You will need:

  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice

Mix all the ingredients together and apply it in the shower on damp hair. Massage the scrub into your hair using your fingertips for five minutes. Rinse well and apply shampoo and conditioner as usual.

Scrubbing your scalp increases blood circulation and promotes hair growth. Lemon offers anti-bacterial properties and gives relief from dandruff and scalp infections. Olive oil will fight free radicals and prevent hair loss and damage. Massaging your scalp with this scrub every 15 days will nurse your hair back to health.
