After a long tiring day, removing your makeup and following your skincare routine may seem like a task you can’t really bother with. But if you don’t want to wake up to brittle eyelashes, an onslaught of breakouts or inflamed skin, then you need to get rid of every trace of makeup on your face before hitting the sheets.
If you’re someone who struggles with taking their makeup off at the end of a tiring day, well guess what, you’re in luck. Because we’re going to show your four simple makeup removal hacks that will save you time and effort…
- 01. Micellar water, FTW
- 02. Keep makeup removal wipes handy
- 03. Make the most of your shower time
- 04. Use lotion to remove makeup
01. Micellar water, FTW

If you don’t already have a bottle of micellar on your beauty shelf, we suggest you get one today. Micellar water comes packed with micelles which are nothing but oil molecules that draw out dirt, oil, makeup and sweat from your skin like a magnet. And the best part about using micellar water is that there is no need to rinse your face afterwards.

02. Keep makeup removal wipes handy

Always keep a pack of facial wipes next to your bed. These come in really handy for the days when you can’t muster up the strength to even change your clothes. Simply use one or two wipes to remove makeup and get rid of impurities, slather on some moisturiser and you’re good to go.

03. Make the most of your shower time

If you’re someone who needs to take a quick shower before hitting the sheets, you can use the time in the shower to remove makeup. Simply apply a cleansing oil such as the Lakme Absolute Argan Oil Radiance Rinse Off Cleansing Oil to your face and rinse it off under running water. The moisturising properties of this argan-infused cleanser will also deeply hydrate and moisturise your skin.
04. Use lotion to remove makeup

A lot of us usually have a moisturiser or body lotion lying next to our beds. But did you know that lotions can also double up as excellent makeup removers? Well, all you need to do is simply apply a thick layer of lotion on your face and allow it to sit for about a minute and wipe it off with a cotton pad. Remember to take it off thoroughly because lotion can sometimes be too thick for the face and clog pores if not taken off completely.
