Nope. Treating yourself to a steaming shower at the end of the day doesn't quite count as self-care. C'mon. Where's the ambition? Where's the drama? You know you can do better than this. We've got to find a way to resurrect your bath bomb and candle loving alter-ego.
It's time to create some space on your to-do list for the coming weekend, drown your room in candles, and assemble your self-care essentials ASAP. Everything else can wait for… an hour. Just one hour.
As your self-care sidekicks, we’ve scoured through countless virtual stores to bring to you the finest products for your day of indulgence. These products are just that tempting. You'll know soon enough.
Step #1: Slather on a body wash
Don't reserve the act of cleansing just for the face. It's not like your body doesn't need cleansing, right? You must kickstart your body care routine (even the simplest one) with a cleanser. And that's why we've found the mildest concoction for your skin. The Love Beauty & Planet Natural Murumuru Butter & Rose Aroma Body Wash is perfect to start with. Infused with Amazonian murumuru butter and 100% organic oil, the formula cleanses your skin gently without stripping off the essential moisture. On top of that, it’s infused with hand-picked Bulgarian roses to give you luxurious rose-scented glowing skin.
Step #2: Say bye to dead cells
After you've rid your skin of all impurities, you must move on to exfoliation. The Dove Exfoliating Body Polish Scrub with Pomegranate Seeds and Shea Butter is our go-to exfoliator when we’re indulging in a spa-like day. Gently slough off any build-up of dead cells, and do away with roughness, dullness, and dryness by massaging this scrub into your skin. Formulated with a plant-based moisturiser, this scrub leaves in its trail a delicious velvety fragrance. Ah, tingling scents. That's one reason why this practice is so therapeutic.
Step #3: Retrieve the razor
Once you've exfoliated your skin, retrieve that razor of yours. Your skin is softer at this point in time, and the process of exfoliation makes for a closer shave. Just remember to layer your skin with cream or gel, and shave in the direction of the grain instead of against it. Don't glide a dull or rusted razor against your skin. Make sure it's a new one to get a smooth shave and to avoid going over the same area more than once.
Step #4: Moisturise generously
This is the concluding step of your routine. You must lock in all that moisture, and reinstate the suppleness of your skin. Our current favourite is the Vaseline Lavender Moisturizing Gel. Aren't you sold already? Infused with glycerin as well as Vaseline Jelly, the formula penetrates five layers of your skin to provide you with 48-hour moisturisation. It's fast-absorbing and doesn't feel sticky like other lotions do. Pretty amazing, no?
