Being someone with the mental tolerance of a peach, we understand the need and importance of a detox day. Any slight inconvenience in our life and we go straight into detox mode, drinking all the green juices and pampering our skin with the best skin food. So here we got you our detox day routine that you can try out next time you feel mentally or physically exhausted. Trust us, you will end the day feeling like you just got back from the most relaxing spa session of your life. So if you are a skincare buff, like us, looking to relax, get into your PJs and join along because today is all about you.

01. Start the day off with lemon water

This is something you should ideally do every day, but with my procrastination, I get through half the day before I remember to drink lemon water. But on detox days, make sure to drink a warm glass of water mixed with half a lemon. You can mix chia seeds in it if you wish for extra benefits. The lemon water not only helps with digestion but is also rich in Vitamin C, which boosts collagen and helps deal with breakouts. Although it doesn’t magically happen in a day, drinking it on your detox day will help you start your day on the right foot and makes you feel happy about doing something healthy *shortcut to feeling awesome*.

On your detox days, take some time to reflect on your week, your daily goals and what you want to achieve. For us, we always reflect back on our work, art, skincare and writing. We usually tend to overthink even a small zit, so always make sure to reassure yourself that it’s fine, breakouts happen and you can fix it! ‘I trust my skin’s healing process,’ ‘I glow from inside out’ are some of our favourite affirmations and you should truly let them sink in to get all the good vibes you need to take on life!

Now we come to the most important part of the detox — skincare! We love testing out new skincare products and mask up while sipping on some yum coconut water.
