Beauty to me is...

Being naturally confident in your own skin and finding strength even in your flaws. When you feel good about yourself, there is that sparkle and smile reaching your eyes always.

My daily skincare routine

I honestly don’t have to do much when it comes to my skin; I have my Israeli genes to thank for this. I wash my face with a mild cleanser as I have sensitive skin and I always slather on sunscreen before stepping out.

I’m not high-maintenance. Exercise and a healthy diet are the only anti-ageing remedies I use.

My daily hair care routine

Since most of the training I do is high intensity, I land up sweating a lot. I make sure to wash my hair two to three times a week. On other days, I just rinse my hair with water and use conditioner. Post the hair wash, I apply a serum and wrap a hot towel around my hair.

While working out...

I make sure to remove any makeup from my face and my pores could get clogged if the products mix with sweat. Then I tie my hair, usually in a ponytail. I also carry anti-bacterial wipes or a face towel to keep wiping my face as I have the tendency to sweat a lot.

After my workout, the first thing I do is wash my face with plain water. I get out of my sweaty clothes as soon as possible and take a shower with lukewarm water. I completely avoid hot showers as they can strip the skin of its natural oils. I also don’t layer on moisturiser as it sometimes irritates my sensitive skin. I prefer to use a soothing body oil instead and a light serum on my hair. No blow dryers for me, I let my hair dry naturally.

For me, a beauty no-no would be...

Working out with makeup on. Your skin needs to breathe while you work out, plus makeup can clog your pores. A hint of kajal and lip gloss is fine.  Also, I make sure to use my own towel and exercise mat as far as possible.

Beauty essentials in my gym bag

I’m not a makeup person at all, unless I’m shooting. You’ll find a moisturiser with a good SPF, my face wash, kajal, clear mascara and gloss in my gym bag at all times.

My favourite beauty ritual

A deep tissue massage at the spa to release all those knots, soothe my muscles and relieve the stress. The add-on to this is a hair oil massage and a foot massage as well. I do this at least every fortnight.

My diet

I am lactose sensitive, so I avoid milk and dairy products; an upset stomach can wreak havoc on your skin. I keep my protein consumption on the higher side, and I make sure to sip on loads of water through the day. Dehydration causes dry skin and reduces the elasticity of the skin too. The fact that I love fruits (all kinds) helps my skin too. I eat a lot of citrus fruits as the Vitamin C is needed to produce collagen that strengthens the capillaries. I also have a lot of seeds as they are loaded with nutrients and have relatively less calories. These nutrients include Vitamin E, zinc and selenium, which promote hair growth.

All in all, I follow the mantra of everything in moderation!
