Citric Scrub

Lemon has a citric base that cleanses and exfoliates every inch of your skin. Adding lemon to homemade scrubs is a convention followed by most, one that ensures the cleansing of your skin while keeping the bacteria and other harmful microbes at bay. It plays a major role in the formation of collagen, which is the support system of the skin. When eaten in its natural occurring form or applied externally, the Vitamin C in lemons can help in fighting the skin damage caused by the sun burns and environmental pollution, as well as in reducing wrinkles and in improving the overall texture of the skin.
Mixture:
You will need: 1 lemon, half cup of sugar, 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of honey.
OR
You will need: 1 lemon, half cup of cocoa powder, 1 tablespoon of coconut oil.
Application:
Moisten your face with water. For minimum disruption of follicles, rub the scrub mixture over your skin in a gentle circular manner. Let the scrub stay on you till it has completely dried. This ensures that all the oils and the essence of the mixture have been absorbed by your skin. Rinsing the scrub off with lukewarm water helps open up the pores for a better cleansing experience. Finish by applying a gentle moisturizer to your skin.
Juice

It is time that we started taking our own Instagram captions a little more seriously. For example, when life gives you lemons, do make lemonade out of it. Drinking lemonade is extremely beneficial to your beauty regime. A glass of lemonade a day keeps pimples, acne and all other major skin problems away. Drinking lemon juice first thing in the morning can help cleanse the digestive system and rehydrate the body, especially if had with lukewarm water. Some of the other benefits include weight loss and a Beyonce-like glow for your skin. Lemon juice can also be applied externally in order to reduce acne.
Best out of waste
Lemon is like the ‘Kalpataru’ of citrus foods. Even after all the juice from the lemon has been squeezed, it is the leftover skin that is still beneficial to us. The vitamin C found in lemon peels has antioxidant, anti-atherogenic, and anti-carcinogenic properties. Lemon skin, when rubbed against your teeth, makes them whiter and also makes your gums stronger. Similarly, when rubbed on stretch marks, it can help lessen their further stretching.
