The ongoing pandemic has forced us to embrace social distancing and self-quarantine to prevent further spread. Now that most of us are working from home, we are saving a lot of time that is usually spent on commuting to and from office. Hurray!
While staying indoors sounds good, you quickly realise that it can affect your health if all you do is work. So those few hours you are saving everyday... use them to do the things you always complained you didn’t have time for. Here’s what you can do with all the free time you have during the pandemic.
- 1. Spend time with the fam
- 2. Read that book
- 3. Put on a sheet mask
- 4. Take a long shower
- 5. Binge-watch your favourite show or movie
- 6. Exercise and meditate
- 7. Declutter
- 8. DIY nail art
- 9. Brush up on your makeup skills
- 10. Face massaging
1. Spend time with the fam

We always complain about not being able to spend enough time with the family due to work commitments. Looks like our prayers have been heard. Now that you have ample time just sit and talk with the fam, if you have a pet spend some time grooming him/her.
2. Read that book

Pick that book sitting and collecting dust on your night stand and read it! Spending at least 30 minutes a day reading can be very peaceful. It’s a good distraction from constantly reading about pandemic. Limit your time of viewing news every day, remember stay updated but don’t drown yourself with unnecessary information.
3. Put on a sheet mask

Since the kids are home you may not have enough time to pamper your skin, but there’s nothing more refreshing and relaxing than a sheet mask. Take 20 minutes during the day and relax with a sheet mask on your face.
4. Take a long shower

Over the weekend, you will have more free time and nothing to do. Use this time to pamper your body from head to toe. Exfoliate your body thoroughly using an olive oil and brown sugar scrub, add a few drops of essential oil to your bath water, light a candle and lather up using a refreshing body wash. Post shower while your skin is still a little damp, apply body lotion all over for smooth and soft skin.
5. Binge-watch your favourite show or movie

Quarantine and chill? Put your Netflix and Prime subscription to use and binge-watch your favourite show or a movie you loved as a kid, Harry Potter re-runs anyone?
6. Exercise and meditate

It is natural to panic and get anxious during a situation like this but it is also important to maintain your calm. Exercise at home, eat right and meditate for at least 10 minutes everyday by taking deep, relaxing breaths.
7. Declutter

Now is a good time to declutter and reorganize your vanity kit, wardrobe or work desk. Decluttering is therapeutic. Get rid of all the unnecessary things around you and make space for the things you will buy when this pandemic comes to an end.
8. DIY nail art

Not every nail art design requires expert skills. Look for some easy yet pretty nail art designs on Pinterest and try them on. Who knows, you might emerge a nail art pro?
9. Brush up on your makeup skills

Makeup that’s used to enhance your skills is not wasted and think about all the selfies you can take! So, go to your favourite makeup blogger’s page and learn a new look or two.
10. Face massaging

If you have a jade roller or other face massaging tool put it to good use. Don’t worry if you don’t have one, apply some face oil and using light pressure, massage with your fingertips. Your skin will look fresh and soft instantly.
