Waking up with puffy eyes is annoying, they make you look tired, exhausted and groggy. You will have to spend the rest of the day telling people you’re not sick, just had a late night out.
But if you have to show up to work for an important meeting or go on a date, you definitely can’t carry those under eye bags along, right? While cancelling all plans, calling in sick at work and resting it out is one way to go about it, there are a few other tricks that can fix puffy eyes instantly.
If you start your day with black tea or green tea, don’t throw the tea bag away! Drop two tea bags in a cup of hot water and let it stay for a minute. Let it cool off and place it on your eyes and relax for three minutes. The caffeine in tea immediately constricts blood vessels and decreases the swelling, this makes you look fresh and awake instantly.
After you’re done complaining and panicking about those puffy eyes, stay calm and place two clean teaspoons in the freezer. Remove them after some time and place against your eyes for a few minutes. Ensure you dip it in water first so you don’t end up sticking the frozen spoon to your skin.
Cucumber slices are not just a clichéd spa thing, the vegetable has natural hydrating and soothing properties. Putting slices of cucumber on your eyelids for about 30 minutes can reduce swelling and redness and make the under eye skin look fresh.
