BB: What are some effects of heavy makeup on the skin?

Hinaa: Heavy makeup can clog pores, which leads to the formation of blackheads, congestion, and breakouts. Further, leaving makeup on overnight can exacerbate the condition and speed up the ageing process. Sleeping with makeup on will disrupt the process of skin repair through moisturisation, especially for dry skin. Dry skin can develop signs of ageing faster. Similarly, sleeping with lipstick on draws out the moisture, leading to dry, flaky chapped lips. Artificial colour pigments in makeup can further cause sensitivity and irritation. Talc-based makeup can cause dryness, which may again cause early signs of ageing.

Hinaa: It is critical to cleanse the body internally, which has an impact on the skin, while also addressing skin concerns externally using result-driven solutions. I would recommend to do the following:

  • Start by following a personalised AM skin care routine for immediate results. Double Cleanse, Exfoliate, Hydrate and Protect your skin daily.
