How to get that festive glow in 5 simple steps

The festive season is just around the corner and you are busy updating your wardrobe, but how’s the skin prep going? Didn’t give it a thought, did you? The festive and wedding season brings with late nights, culinary indulgences and not being able to follow a dedicated skincare routine. This can wreak havoc on your skin and lead to unwanted problems right before a big day.

However, prepping your skin 15 to 20 days in advance can keep these problems at bay and make your skin look its radiant best. All you need is a skin detox and a few additions to your skincare routine. Simple as that!

Multi-masking

Do you apply a face mask at least once a week? Take it a notch higher by embracing multi-masking. It not only saves time, but also targets specific problems on different areas of the face. Instead of just using different liquid formulas, incorporate sheet masks too.

If you have combination skin apply a clay-based mask to your t-zone and cut out a hydrating sheet mask such as the Simple Kind To Skin Rich Moisture Sheet Mask and place it on the rest of your face. This will make your skin soft, radiant and glowing.

Don’t skip gym

We are not saying this just because you have to fit into that designer lehenga; working out is good for your skin too. During a workout, your skin flushes out toxins and dirt from the pores along with sweat, and that’s a big win!

We suggest you practice meditation and yoga to calm your mind and relieve stress. Your skin will automatically look radiant and glowing when your body is relaxed and your mind is at peace.

Concentrate on your eyes

Your eyes reveal a lot about your health and age. So, while you are busy taking care of your face, don’t ignore the delicate eye area. Incorporate an eye cream such as the Lakme Absolute Argan Oil Radiance Night Revival Eye Crème that reduces dark circles and dullness, and brightens the eye area. You can also apply cucumber slices or used green tea bags to calm and reduce under eye puffiness.

Stay hydrated

While applying moisturiser and other skincare products topically is important, these products will only show results when your body is internally hydrated too. Drink a lot of water throughout the day. You can add lemon slices or honey to make it more palatable. Avoid caffeine as much as possible.

Keep SOS products handy

All things said and done, your skin has a mind of its own and might surprise you with a pimple right before a family gathering. For such situations, it’s best to keep an SOS products kit handy. Add acne patches and refrigerated sheet masks to this kit so you can tackle any skin surprise without panicking.
