If you have oily skin, you need to make friends with fruits and here’s why. As it turns out, fruit face packs are a quick and fool-proof solution to treat oily skin woes such as greasiness, clogged pores and acne. Fruits are packed with skin-loving properties, cleansing agents and antioxidants which zap the excess oil without leaving the skin dry.
So, if you are looking for a natural skincare remedy for your oily skin, here are three simple homemade fruit packs you must try.
Strawberry + yoghurt
Strawberries are excellent for oily skin as they not only get rid of excess oil but also hydrate the skin. They are acidic in nature, packed with antioxidants and thus help in controlling sebum and maintaining the healthy glow of the skin.
Add four to five strawberries in a blender, pour a tablespoon of yoghurt and a few drops of rose water and blend. Apply the pack on a clean face. Let it sit for about half an hour and rinse. Follow up with a moisturiser.
Orange peel + kiwi + lemon juice
There’s no doubt that citric acid does wonders for oily skin. Not only does it help get rid of excess oil but also lightens acne marks, dark spots and blemishes. You can employ fruits that are rich in citric acid such as lemon, orange and kiwi in your skincare routine for oil-free skin.
Grind one dry orange peel and add kiwi and lemon juice to it. Add a pinch of turmeric and a tablespoon of honey to it and mix. Apply this pack evenly on the face and neck and rinse once dry. Moisturise with a lightweight moisturiser.
Papaya + multani mitti
Papaya pulp is known to unclog pores, exfoliate and remove dead skin cells and also absorb excess oil from the skin. If you have oily skin, try this papaya and multani mitti (fuller’s earth) face pack.
Add two tablespoons of multani mitti in a cup of mashed ripe papaya. Add some rose water to bind the ingredients and also for extra benefits. Apply the pack on your face and let it stay for15-20 minutes before rinsing it off. Repeat once a week for quicker results.
