Dealing with dry skin is no easy task. The constant itching, flakiness and inflammation is something that girls with a dry skin type have to deal with on a daily basis. Arggh! What’s worse is that you’ve tried everything under the sun to get rid of the dryness but nothing seems to work *sigh*.
But don’t lose hope just yet because we have something up our sleeve that’s going to transform your skin game and leave you with super hydrated, supple and nourished skin. Can you guess what we’re talking about? It’s face oils!
Face oils have taken over the beauty world by storm, and we for one are completely bowled over by how amazingly well they hydrate and moisturise the skin. The right blend of oils can go a long way in making your skin look plump and supple. But you don’t need to spend a bomb on store-bought facial oils when you can easily make your own at home. Yes, you read that right.
All you need is a carrier oil that works for your dry skin and two essential oils with soothing and calming properties. The vitamins and protective antioxidants present in this facial oil impart intense hydration while smoothing fine lines. Ready to make your own DIY facial oil? Let’s begin…
To prepare a DIY facial oil for dry skin, you will need:

- 60 ml of avocado oil
- 2 drops of lavender oil
- 2 drops of rose oil
How to:
Simply pour all the oils in a small glass bottle and shake it well until they are properly mixed. To use, simply take 2 small drops onto your palm and rub it in between your fingers. Gently pat the oil on your face, twice a day. Use it as the last step in your skincare routine. The best part? You can even wear makeup over this.
