Oily skin brings with it a slew of skin issues — acne being the number one. From using the wrong formula to applying the wrong ingredients, there are several factors that can trigger breakouts on your oily skin. You need to be super careful with what you put on your face; anything too harsh can matters worse.

Therefore, we have whipped up a really simple and natural DIY mask that your oily, acne-prone skin is going to love. This gentle, three-ingredient face mask will help soothe and calm your skin by unclogging pores, reducing inflammation and enhancing your skin’s defence barrier. Sounds cool, right?

Here’s how you can prepare this mask:

diy anti acne mask for oily skin

You will need:

½ medium ripe tomato

1 tablespoon of lemon zest

1 teaspoon of organic honey

How to prepare a DIY anti-acne mask:

Step 01: Cut the tomato in half and peel off the skin, using a fork, mash the tomato.

Step 02: Mix 1 tablespoon of lemon zest into the bowl and 1 teaspoon of honey until the mixture is well combined.

Step 03: Apply the mixture to your face and leave it on for ten minutes.

Step 04: Wash off with warm water and follow up with your favourite moisturiser

Apply this mask once a week (not more) for best results.

Remember that oily skin needs a moisturiser as well to keep it oil-free and prevent acne. Hence, after using the mask, always follow it up with a lightweight, oil-free moisturiser such as the Pond’s Super Light Gel Oil-Free Moisturiser to keep your skin healthy, nourished and acne-free.
