Something about the monsoon air always has our sweet-tooth craving a little something to keep it satisfied. If you’re riding the same boat, we’ve got you your two minute fix. That’s right, all you need for this delectable treat are two minutes to spare, a handful of kitchen staples and your favourite mug. Read on to see how you can master the art of making a ‘brownie in a mug’ and treat your girlies to this special treat too when they drop by for gossip and giggles.
All you need is: ¼ of a cup of flour
¼ of a cup of sugar
2 tablespoons of natural, unsweetened cocoa powder
A pinch of salt
A tiny pinch of cinnamon powder
¼ of a cup of water
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil (try not to use extra virgin olive oil, since it has a strong taste)
2 drops of vanilla extract
Mix up the flour, sugar, cocoa and salt to break up any clumps.
Now add in the oil, water and vanilla extract and mix well until the mixture is smooth. Pour the mixture into a microwave safe ceramic mug. Place the mug in a microwave and crank the heat on high until the mixture is cooked through. Start off with 60 seconds and increase until the brownie is done. Once it’s done cooking it should be moist.
Let it cool for a minute before digging in with a spoon. Enjoy your two-minute brownie using all fresh, kitchen-staple ingredients!
