Sure, we look forward to our drinking sessions at parties. But the only thing that’s going to save us from a nasty hangover the next day is the food we consume along with our endless glasses of liquor. As a host, you certainly want to keep things easy and skip an elaborate meal for your guests. If you ask us, what always work during parties are finger foods served with drinks—simple, yummy and less time consuming! Have to plan a get-together? Whip up these easy finger foods for a party!
 

Spiced roasted chickpeas

Spiced roasted chickpeas

What you need: ¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil, 400 gms of chickpeas, 1 tsp pepper, 1tbsp cumin seed and salt.

Preparation: Preheat your oven to 450 degrees. Pour the olive oil on a baking sheet and place in the oven until the oil is hot. In a bowl, add the chickpeas, pepper and cumin seeds. Season with salt and toss to combine. Place this mixture on the hot baking sheet and spread it. Bake this meal until you find the chickpeas slightly crisp, which will take you about 10 minutes. Transfer to a bowl and serve.

 

Pineapple sticks

What you need: Cheddar (cut into pieces), pineapple (cut into pieces) and toothpicks.

Preparation: Take the toothpick and place the pineapple on top of the cheese and you’re done! Serve immediately.

 

Deviled eggs

Deviled eggs

What you need: 6 large hard-boiled eggs, salt and black pepper, 2 tbsp of mayonnaise, 1tsp mustard sauce, 2 diced gherkins and 1 sliced jalapeno.

Preparation: Peel the shells of the eggs and slice them in halves. Remove the yolks from the whites and place them in a bowl. Mash the yolks and add the mayonnaise, mustard sauce, gherkins and jalapenos along with salt and pepper. Stir this well till you notice a creamy consistency. Sprinkle on the eggs and add some paprika on top of each egg. Place them in the fridge and serve cold.

 

Sweet and spicy almonds

Sweet and spicy almonds

What you need: 1 egg white, 1 tbsp water, ¼ cup light brown sugar, 1/3  white sugar, 1tsp salt, 1 tsp cinnamon, ¼ tsp cayenne pepper and 200 gms almonds.

Preparation: Heat oven to 300 degrees and line a baking sheet. In a bowl, beat the egg white along with all the ingredients –sugars, salt, cinnamon and cayenne pepper. Add the nuts to this mix and stir. Pour this into a baking sheet and spread it out. Bake for 30 minutes and remove the nuts from the oven. Serve when it cools down.

 

Avocado toast

Avocado toast

What you need: 3 ripe avocados, juice of 2 lemons, sea salt, 4 slices of whole grain bread toasted, red pepper flakes and extra virgin oil.

Preparation: Cut the avocados in halves and remove pit and scoop out the flesh into a bowl. Add the lemon juice and salt. Mash all of this together and spread this mash into each toast and garnish with red pepper flakes. Drizzle some olive oil and voila! Avocado toast is ready to relish.
