Cream of salmon soup

Love fish? Make yourself this indulging recipe for dinner and end your day in a healthy way.


-      4 cups water

-      2 medium onions

-      3 medium potatoes

-      1 tsp salt

-      ¼ tsp white or black pepper

-      1 bay leaf

-      2 pounds skinless salmon fillets

-      1 cup whipping cream

-      Dill weed


Boil water in a large skillet and add in the potatoes, onions, salt, pepper and bay leaf. Bring it to a boil. Cover the vessel and simmer for 10 minutes until the potatoes become soft. Add in the salmon pieces and cover, allowing it to simmer for another 5 minutes. Remove ½ cup of the soup gravy and mix with the whipping cream. Mix the mixture into the soup and let it get heated thoroughly. Garnish with dill weed and your cuppa is ready. Enjoy!

Vitamin Clear Soup

The perfect mix of health and taste, this soup makes for a great midnight snack.


-      2 cups beetroot cubes

-      2 cups carrot cubes

-      2 cups tomato cubes

-      2 tbsp tamarind pulp

-      1 tsp red chilli powder

-      1½  tsp mustard seeds

-      1½ tsp cumin seeds

-      2 dry red chillies

-      4 mashed garlic cloves

-      ½ tsp asafoetida

-      1 tsp coriander powder

-      1 tsp cumin powder

-      2 tsp rasam powder

-      2 tsp ghee

-      Salt


Heat the ghee in a heavy-bottom vessel. Add seasoning (mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chillies and garlic gloves) and let it splutter. Blend the beetroot, carrot, tomato and green chillies, and add this to the seasoning with 10 cups of water. Add chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, rasam powder and tamarind pulp. Boil for 10-15 minutes and garnish with coriander leaves. Bon appétit!

Salsa bean soup

Fortify your body with the goodness of vitamins by eating this soup on a cold rainy day. What a tasty way to fight seasonal viral infections!


-      ¾ cup soaked and boiled kidney beans

-      2 tsp olive oil

-      1½ tsp finely chopped garlic

-      ¼ cup finely chopped spring-onion whites

-      2 tbsp finely chopped spring-onion greens

-      1 cup blanched and finely chopped tomatoes

-      1½ tsp dry red chilli flakes

-      1 tsp dried oregano

-      1 tbsp tomato ketchup

-      3 cups vegetable stock

-      Salt

-      2 tbsp grated mozzarella cheese


Heat the oil in a non-stick pan. Add the garlic and spring-onion whites, and sauté on a medium flame for a minute. Add the tomatoes, chilli flakes, oregano and tomato ketchup, mix and cook on a medium flame for 2-3 minutes. Stir occasionally. Add the beans, basic vegetable stock and salt, mix and bring to a boil. Keep stirring. After 2-3 minutes, garnish with spring-onion greens and cheese, and enjoy the healthy soup bowl.
