
Alkaline water balances the pH in our bodies. Eating out too often, too many preservatives and a low intake of fresh food coupled with poor exercise habits makes the nature of our bodies acidic. This can weaken all our systems considerably. To neutralise the acidity, our body has to borrow minerals from teeth, bones, etc. something that is not necessarily beneficial in the long run.
In order to beat this problem, you must include alkaline water in your diet to help normalize the alkalinity of the body. Water that is ionised often becomes half the size of regular water thus making it much easier for our bodies to absorb it.
Moreover, this water also contains powerful antioxidants that speed up healing of wounds and injuries. Eating foods that are high in acid will build up the acidic content in your body. Eventually, the body will not be able to process it and will store it, leading to increase in fat cells. This is when drinking alkaline water helps as it will push out the acidic waste through sweat and human waste.
How to make alkaline water
Take 1 liter of water, add one cucumber sliced in four parts, ½ a large lemon and 6-7 mint leaves. Leave this drink overnight and have it the first thing next morning. Lemon and cucumbers are both alkalizing agents and can flush out toxins from the body and help the body function at its optimum level.
