Luxury French pâtisserie, La Folie left no stones unturned while celebrating World Macaron Day this year! This temple of sweet seduction exclusively served mouth-watering macarons to commemorate the occasion.
First initiated by none other than the ‘Picasso of Pastry’, the acclaimed Pierre Hermé, commenced the tradition of World Macaron Day, as an outlet to raise awareness for serious causes. Closer to home, Executive Chef and Partner at La Folie, Sanjana Patel has trained under his genius and brings the tradition to Mumbai. La Folie associated themselves with local charity, Advitya (a creative centre for the mentally challenged), for an exclusive one day event as a part of their latest campaign by donating 20 per cent of all sales to the charity.
La Folie paid homage and celebrated the glory of macrons in a wide range of avatars, all the way from macaron ice-cream to macaron pops—in palate-refreshing flavours such as siracha chilli to dark chocolate, in addition to orange blossom, pink grapefruit and margaretia pizza to name a few never-heard-before flavours. We, for one, can’t wait to dig into this plethora of candied treats that boast a savoury twist in the best manner possible.
As the esteemed Dorothy Parker once said "living well is the best revenge" and I take that piece of advice to heart. A babe in the woods for all things theatrical--I like to see drama in the mundane. Fresh off the yacht into this editorial world, I look forward to bringing in a fresh, beautiful perspective.
