Here is what you can eat while you’re on your periods
Periods are no fun. It is that irritating, painful and annoying time of the month that us women folk deal with every month. Mood swings, cramps and that lethargic feeling—the list of symptoms is pretty long. And what’s worst? The food cravings!

We understand how badly you yearn for a margarita pizza during those days but think again—is it worth it? You might temporarily feel better, but eating dense and heavy food will only hamper your health and more importantly your skin!

Switching to healthier options then is a good idea. Here are some foods that are wholesome enough to keep you full and to keep you in good health during those difficult days…

#1 Banana

#4 Dark Chocolate

Being one of the richest sources of potassium, eating bananas while you’re on your period can lift your mood and keep you happy. It is loaded with B6 vitamin and other minerals that reduce the bloating and relax your muscles. Try and eat one banana daily while you’re menstruating.

#2 Leafy Veggies

#4 Dark Chocolate

Periods or no periods, green vegetables are a must have. Vegetables like spinach, kale and broccoli are one of the best options because they are filled with iron and vitamins. Make yourself a salad or eat sautéed vegetables and add some lemon for added zest.

#3 Multigrain Bread

#4 Dark Chocolate

Instead of eating a whole wheat bread, switch to multigrain bread instead. Whole Grains are good for your cramps as they reduce muscle tension, relief the pain. Not only this, they keep you feeling fuller and you don’t feel hungry for a longer time.

#4 Dark Chocolate

#4 Dark Chocolate

Chocolates aren’t bad for your period—as long as you’re not having a milk chocolate. Dark chocolate has an abundance of antioxidants and it is a rich source magnesium. It not only reduces your mood swings but also helps regulate the happy hormone!

So the next time you’re getting cranky, you know what to munch on.
