One of the main reasons why we love K-beauty makeup and skincare trends is how most of them aim to deliver super glowy and healthy-looking skin. And the latest K-beauty trend that’s been doing the rounds on Instagram is sort of similar, but with a cool new twist that we bet, you’d never guess! Popularly known as ‘cloud skin’, this skincare and makeup hybrid trend, aims to create dreamy or cloudy-looking skin.
Cloud skin aims to recreate a nice dewy, complexion similar to the glow of a cloud diffusing sun rays during the golden hour. But unlike most other K-beauty trends, this one recreates this wonderful soft and glowing makeup finish without the use of a highlighter. It employs the benefits of a good skin prep and the right kind of makeup products to achieve this.
This makeup look is absolutely lightweight and is perfect to be worn even during the hot and humid Indian summer! So, now that you are as excited as we are, let’s find out how to create this stunning summery ‘cloud skin’ makeup look in a few simple steps…

Step 01: Start with moisturising your face with the Lakme Absolute Hydra Pro Gel Crème and massage it well into your skin. Allow it to rest for a couple of minutes before applying a little bit of the Dermalogica Phyto Replenish Oil to give your skin that lovely dewy-looking skin.
Step 02: As for the base, take a very tiny amount of dewy finish foundation such as the Lakme Absolute Argan Oil Serum Foundation SPF 45 and buff it into your skin with a foundation brush. Begin with applying a very thin layer, and build it up as you go. Since this look is mostly about a natural finish, there is no need to wear a concealer. But if you feel like you want more coverage, then go in with the Lakme Absolute White Intense SPF 20 Concealer Stick only where you think it's necessary.
Step 03: This is a very important step in this, so take your time with it. Using some loose powder (you can even use a compact if you like) such as the Lakme 9 to 5 Naturale Finishing Powder, dust some of it on the hollows of your cheeks, upper forehead, bridge of the nose and chin. But be sure to be very light-handed. Strategically diffusing some powder on certain parts of your face creates a beautiful blurry effect of sunlight streaming through the clouds. While mixing these three different textures of dewy, glowy, and matte, the end result mimics the natural textures of a cloud, hence the name – ‘cloud skin’.
BB pro tip: If you are happy with how your base looks at this point, then you can stop right here. But if you, like us, think there’s nothing like too much glow, then here’s something you can do – take a tiny amount of any clear lip balm; we prefer the nourishing formula of the Vaseline Lip Therapy Vitamin E – Original. Apply this lip balm to your cheeks, eyes, cupid’s bow and chin to for super healthy and glowing skin.
