Written by Tashika TyagiAug 02, 2021
Having healthy, radiant skin with the kind of busy lifestyle we lead sounds almost impossible, but not when we have guidance from the never-aging Bollywood diva, Malaika Arora. We all know that regularly practising yoga does wonders for your body, but did you know it also helps make your skin look healthy and radiant?
To teach us all about the many benefits of yoga, Malaika shares yoga asanas as part of her #MalaikasMoveOfTheWeek movement on Instagram almost every week, and we have never been more thankful for the internet! Here are three yoga asanas Malaika Arora swears by for radiant skin. Check it out!
Also known as the plough pose, Halasana is known for helping reduce stress, fatigue and improving digestion. It is also calming for your nerves and therapeutic for your skin. For this, you need to lie on your yoga mats with your hands beside your body. Exhale, startlifting your legs upwards, and continue taking them beyond the head until you touch the floor. Hold for six seconds. Inhale and bring the legs back down to the starting position. It might appear difficult, but with regular practice, you will be able to master it like Malaika!
2. Trikonasana
For this asana, you need to start by standing with your feet apart and opening your arms wide, sideways. Then, bend over and start lifting while twisting your body, and touch the ground below with your palm while the other stays up in the air, facing upwards. This yoga pose improves the oxygen level in your body, thus improving your skin’s health and making it appear bright and glowing. It removes toxins, clears clogged pores and free radicals to make your skin appear radiant. So, make it a part of your everyday routine to bring back the glow!
3. Sarvangasana
Regularly practising Sarvangasana, AKA shoulder stand pose, can help keep your hormones in check, improve your skin texture and tone, and prevent pimples, wrinkles, and dull skin. The movement of this asana — inverted and lifted from the ground, with all the weight on the shoulders and back — helps improve blood circulation in your body, thus making your skin appear radiant.
