You know how Moms and Grandmas are always stressing on the importance of a good hot oil hair massage or champi? Turns out a good hair massage with warm oil can actually restore moisture and add nourishment to dry and damaged hair. Experts and beauty enthusiasts around the world are giving their dry and damaged manes a boost with this treatment. But is it worth the hype? We find out...
Why is it good for hair?
For starters warm oil relaxes you as it penetrates deep into the hair shaft and promotes blood circulation. This treatment can be used not just for dry and damaged hair but also coloured hair. If you have normal hair, getting regular hot oil massages can make your hair healthy, shiny and manageable. If you have dandruff or itchy scalp a hot oil massage will definitely alleviate the problem. However, instead of picking up any oil off the rack look for oil that will offer maximum benefits. The Indulekha Bringha Hair Oil is an Ayurvedic concoction of 13 natural ingredients that nurtures and conditions hair, promoting hair growth by strengthening hair follicles.
How often should you use a hot oil treatment?
The frequency of getting a hot oil treatment depends on your hair type.
Dry hair: For dry and brittle hair we recommend a 20-30 minutes long hot oil treatment once a week and let it stay overnight.
Normal hair: A hot oil massage is not necessary but beneficial for this hair type. While in a month should be enough, listen what your hair demands and act accordingly.
Oily hair: If you have an oily scalp or hair and keep oil treatments at bay thinking your scalp already produces a lot of sebum, think again. The key is to indulge in the treatment less frequently, once every fortnight is enough and don’t leave it on overnight, wash it off in two hours to avoid weighing the hair down.
How to use?
While the name says hot, don’t apply hot oil to your hair instead it should be warm. Place the required amount of Indulekha Bringha Hair Oil in a microwave safe bowl and warm it for 20-30 seconds, apply it to properly covering the roots and tips, let stay and wash with shampoo and conditioner.
