There are far too many tricks to get curly hair (read: curling iron, rollers, brush, blow dryer). These might give you soft curls or beachy waves, but if you want to go for tight spiral curls, you’ll need to do better than that. Well, we’ve found a hack that is not just budget-friendly, but also guarantees the most amazing spiral curls.
The only item you need is… wait for it… a pencil! Want to know how to get spiral curls using a pencil? Read the step-by-step guide below.
Step 01: This trick works best on freshly washed slightly damp hair, so start by shampooing.
Step 02: Using a hair dryer, majorly dry off your hair, keep it just wet enough to style.
Step 03: Divide your hair into manageable sections. The smaller the section, the tighter the curls.
Step 04: Take the first section of hair and wrap it around the pencil, then spin the pencil 180 degrees to ensure the hair gets locked and does not slip away.

Step 05: Now take your straightening iron and stamp the hair that is coiled around the pencil. Ensure that you have set it on low heat or you might end up damaging your hair. Wait for about three to five seconds, then release.
Step 06: Repeat all over the rest of your hair.
Step 07: If the curls seem too tight, simply run your fingers through your hair to loosen them up.
Step 08: Finish off with hairspray.
