But did you know that just like your makeup brushes, it's really important to wash and clean those scrunchies every couple of weeks too? Dirt, sweat and other impurities can collect on the surface of the cloth, making them the perfect breeding ground for bacteria... yikes! Hence, it's important to give your scrunchies a quick wash too. Ahead, a step-by-step guide to help you clean your scrunchies.

Step 01: Fill a large bowl with warm water and add a few drops of any shampoo. Stir until it lathers Step 02: Soak you dirty scrunchies in the soapy mixture and leave it there for about 15 minutes Step 03: Next, place these scrunchies under fresh, running water until they are completely free of the soap and dirt Step 04: Squeeze out any excess water and allow them to completely dry for a couple of hours before using them again. Note: Repeat this process at least once a month to keep your scrunchies clean. If you're using a cotton scrunchie, you can even wash it in your washing machine on the delicate setting. But if you're using a silk or linen one, it's important that you hand wash in order to prevent damage.
