Constantly tying your hair in a ponytail
When you constantly tie your hair up in a tight ponytail, it tends to put pressure on the follicles and that causes breakage, especially in the crown area. Too much traction from severe pulling can damage hair, and this is responsible for gradual hair loss in women. The worst part is that this hair loss can even become permanent.
Not masking your hair enough
All of us tend to give our face a lot of TLC with serums, moisturisers and masks, but don’t do enough when it comes to our hair. After all, hair is made of a lot of the same stuff as skin, most notably, keratin. If you don’t have the time for regular skin conditioning treatments, then we suggest you multitask. Simply mask your hair and wear it in a bun while you do your regular household chores. Leave it for an hour and wash off later! Simple isn’t it?
Using the same shampoo over and over again
Want to know the main cause of dull, lifeless hair? Using the same shampoo year after year. For shiny, bouncy locks, change your shampoo regularly, as your hair tends to get used to the shampoo you use constantly. A variety of shampoos will help your hair recuperate and become manageable. Always alternate between a few different shampoos such as moisturising shampoo, shine shampoo, color-safe shampoo, and volume shampoo.
Applying shampoo directly to your hair
Shampoo by itself is really thick, and applying it directly from the bottle to your hair makes it difficult to completely wash it off. This results in chemicals and residues of the shampoo getting stuck in your hair, making it super dry and brittle. Always take one to two tablespoons of shampoo (based on your hair length) and dilute it in a mug of water. This will help the shampoo spread evenly and cleanse your scalp better.
Not taking enough vitamins
Often, your normal food does not provide your hair with enough nutrients. This means that if your aim is to have healthy and shiny hair, you will have to increase your vitamin intake through special hair supplements. It is really difficult to have beautiful, strong hair if there isn’t enough protein, biotin, zinc, iron, calcium, folic acid, and vitamins such as A, B-6, B-12, C, D, E etc in your body. Before choosing a hair supplement, always consult a doctor to avoid any adverse reactions.
