Has your hair parting widened recently? Is your scalp visible through your strands? Hair thinning is a hair condition that is caused due to various factors, but the biggest aggressor is your lifestyle. From the food we eat to the never-ending stress of our day jobs, our hair is majorly impacted by our lifestyle. Add to that your hair care mistakes, and your hair is definitely bound to take a hit.

Hot water showers are immensely comforting and we never feel like stepping out of one, but a steamy hot shower is horrible for your hair. Hot water is responsible for zapping away moisture from your locks and making them dry and brittle. Dry hair leads to breakage leading to hair thinning.
Crash diets
While a crash diet may help you lose weight, it is terrible for your hair, skin and overall health. When you starve yourself, your body directs all its energy towards vital functions such as brain and heart health, leaving your hair dull and damaged. This causes serious hair thinning and makes hair look dull and lack lustre.
Tight ponytails and buns
If you are constantly guilty of pulling your hair back in a tight ponytail or bun, stop now! This habit causes your hair to break over time and also causes a receding hairline. The roots of your hair bear the brunt of all that tugging and in time, the hair follicles weaken their grip on strands, causing them to fall out.
Flaky, itchy scalp
If you have dandruff or a flaky and itchy scalp, chances are that you may be constantly scratching your scalp. Scratching damages the hair fibre by tearing it, leading to hair fall and thinning. Not treating freshly washed hair with care
