To curb the spread of the pandemic, a lot of states have been put under another lockdown. While this obviously means that most of our social plans for the weekend stand cancelled, we know just the beauty junkies can keep them perfectly entertained while indulging their dull, damaged and life-less hair in a much-needed hot oil treatment.
If you didn’t already know, it moisturises and conditions dry hair by sealing moisture in the cuticle, strengthens each strand and prevents frizz to deliver uber soft, shiny and manageable strands. But the benefits of a hot oil treatment don’t end there! The head massage that follows a hot oil treatment is so calming and relaxing, that you’ll actually feel all the stress of the week slowly dissipate. Now that we’ve managed to convince you, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to give your hair an indulgent hot oil treatment this weekend. Scroll down…
Step 01: Take about two tablespoons of the Lever Ayush Ayurvedic Bhringaraj Hair Oil in a bowl and heat it on a double boiler for about 30 to 40 seconds or until the oil is slightly warm but not hot.
Step 02: Wash your hair as usual with a gentle shampoo like Tresemme Botanique Nourish & Replenish Shampoo to get rid of any dirt, oil and product build-up from the scalp. Washing your hair before a hot oil treatment ensures better penetration. Soak off any excess water post washing before the next step.
Step 03: Next, apply a little oil onto your scalp and hair using either your fingers or a cotton ball and massage it gently. Being too harsh with the massaging will cause breakage, so be very gentle.
Step 04: Next, take a clean towel, dunk it in hot water, squeeze out the excess water and wrap it around your head and keep it on for about 20 to 30 minutes. This will unclog the pores on your scalp and allow the oil to sink deeper into your roots for stronger hair.
Step 05: Finally, wash and condition your hair as usual and voila! Soft, nourished and healthy strands are ready to flaunt!
