If we sound like a barista taking your order, your confusion is justified! However, as delicious as it sounds, chocolate chai is not just a yummy beverage, but also the newest hair colour trend to try RN. This natural-looking, subtle, sun-kissed hue has a simple appeal… it looks lived in and does not need regular touch-ups. This is perfect if you have fine hair and do not want to overprocess your hair

The term ‘Chocolate Chai’ was coined by NYC-based hair colourist Stephanie Brown because the dye job is dark at the roots (the chocolate) and cascades into a balayage of pale brown highlights to the rest of the hair. It is a lovely colour job, grows out naturally and adds unstated depth to fine hair.

Every hair colourist has a vision when creating a new colouring technique, and for this, the idea was to create a chic hair colour that frames and defines the face.
Since the colouring technique is a mix of lighter and darker colours, it adds a beautiful sun-kissed look to your hair. Since salons are opening up, women are flocking to get rid of their quarantine hair and for many, that means getting a new colour. This refreshingly simple yet trendy hair colour is low-maintenance (will save you multiple salon visits amid the pandemic), adds warmth to the face and looks stunning on every skin tone.
