We all struggle with it. Thin hair and hair loss can make you so frustrated that you want to pull your hair out (what’s remaining, that is)! But that would be such a bad idea. We know the struggle of having to style thin hair, especially when there are parties and other occasions when you want to step it up.

Lucky for you, there are some little clever things you can do to make your hair look thicker than it really is.

Mess it up

Mess it up

This is one aspect of life where messy is totally acceptable. Pull out strands, tease out sections to give your ‘do some texture and the illusion of volume.

Curl it up

Curl it up

Loosely curl intermediate sections of your hair and run your fingers through it to loosen them up. The hair curled sections will make your hair look more voluminous.

Change it up

Change it up

Change the side on which you part your hair frequently. If you stick to the same parting, over time, it tends to appear sparse and flat. Keep switching it from side to side.

Light it up

Adding highlights to your hair can add dimension to your hair and make it look thicker. This is a simple way to add elements of colour and interest to your thinning hair.

Lift it up

Lift it up

Air-dry your hair after washing it, and lightly use a root lifting product at the roots and blow dry it on low heat. You can use a hair pomade or dry shampoo to create ‘lift’ and volume at the roots for a fuller looking mane.
